JDisc Discovery 2.5 is released! |
Ehningen, January 8th 2012: JDisc announces today its new major release 2.5 for its Discovery and Inventory product suite!
Besides some internal upgrades and improvements such as upgrade to the latest Postgres database, the most significant change is our new Device History Add-On.
Our Device History Add-On is the first step towards more transparency regarding the changes within your network. Let JDisc take snapshots of your devices and review them later. Adding snapshots improves your capability to troubleshoot problems related to software or hardware configuration changes.
Check out the device history section from our video tutorials to understand how it works!
This is the first of three phases for our device history add-on. While phase one adds the capability to take snapshots and review them later, phase two supports the snapshot comparison for single devices, while phase three adds change reports covering multiple devices.
Besides the new add-on, JDisc Discovery 2.5's new product suite incorporates all the enhancements created during the last year for our 2.0 release plus many improvements including
Improved: Printing support added
Simple printing capability added for table based reports.
Improved: Blackout periods for scheduled discoveries
Define blackout periods for discovery schedules (e.g. run an hourly discovery, but not between 8pm and 6am).
Improved: Support for many new SNMP devices added
JDisc continuously improves its SNMP device detection capabilities. This release is not an exception. We added support for many new SNMP devices including D-Link switches, Kyocera printers, and many other devices.
