JDisc Discovery 2.5 - Build 2507: Improved ESXi Server Inventory and some Bugfixes

Release 2.5 - 2507

Imroved ESXi Server support and minor bugfixes

Improved: Support for VMware ESXi Servers

VMware ESXi servers are difficult do discover, since they do not allow remote login via SSH. Only the VMware API and WBEM provides detailed information about hardware and software. In the past, JDisc was not able to get detailed hardware information via WBEM from ESXi servers. With the current release, the discovery gets information via VMware's API and WBEM.

Improved: Network Interface Detection

JDisc merges network interface information coming from different protocols (e.g. WMI, SNMP, WBEM). In the past, WMI information was overwriting SNMP information and thus some interface information was lost.

Improved: Wyse Terminal Detection enhanced

The detection of Wyse Thin Clients via SNMP has been improved.

Updated: WBEM Library

The WBEM library used by JDisc discovery has been upgraded to the latest revision.

Bugfix: Excel Export Workbook Naming

In some cases, JDisc created workbook names, that caused problems within Excel. This build fixes this problem, by using a different workbook name in case of problems.

Bugfix: Cisco File Collection fixed

A change in the underlying remote login classes caused a failure when collecting configuration files from Cisco IOS devices when entering the enable mode. This problem has been fixed.

Get Topology Information from Cisco IOS via telnet or SSH

The networking add-on can collect Cisco CDP and port forwarding information via telnet or SSH when this information is not available through SNMP.
